My Ideal Traveling > Blog > What’s new in Bali?

A few months ago, during a trade show, after 5 years of absence I returned to Bali, my beloved island. I traveled everywhere, slowly, sometimes even on a motorbike, to discover the most beautiful Ayurvedic centers and wellness retreats.
This gives me time to enjoy the natural beauty, the small villages, the little-known rice fields, the fishing villages. I head south, more touristy, then towards the much sought-after Ubud, where I discovered several gems. First Om Ham Retreat, an oasis of tranquility nestled in the middle of the rice fields. A place of peace where you can embark on a transformative journey of self-discovery, healing body and mind through a holistic approach. A center where ancient wisdom and modern comfort come together to provide you with a harmonious and luminous retreat experience. The perfect balance of nature, spirituality and well-being which arise from the cultural and spiritual wealth of Bali. Still in Ubud, I went for the first time to the magnificent Fivelements wellness retreat, a dream place with a very specific philosophy. From the beginning, the founders’ intention was to create a healing and wellness destination that shares a vision of love and its transformative power, the aspiration to connect healing wisdom, philosophies and practices of traditional cultures with innovative well-being practices and a great awareness of ecology. A retreat whose creation was motivated by the desire for a better, happier and healthier world. I also went to discover the Oneworld Ayurvedic centers, with two sites in Ubud, a valuable alternative for Ayurvedic treatments in Bali.
Finally I went North, to greet the friends of PranaVeda, a holistic retreat, a paradise directly overlooking the ocean, a magical place of beauty, calm and peace where you can stop the world, be inspired by the magic of Bali and find your strength. And then even further, to Pemuteran, in the far North of the island. The road to get there is in itself a truly breathtaking spectacle of nature. I rushed through expanses of rice fields and passed by the twin lakes, Lake Buyan and Lake Tamblingan which come together in a valley formed following a volcanic eruption, creating a unique panorama. And after following the ocean for several kilometers in a breathtaking landscape, I arrived at the Sun Suko yoga retreat: a delicious wellness retreat where you can rest and develop your potential. Far from the crowded south of Bali, in unspoiled nature and immersed in the authentic atmosphere of the northwest, Pemuteran village offers a combination of incredible mountain energy and a relaxing summer breeze by the sea.
Between one retreat and another, a yoga class and some Ayurvedic treatments, between a walk in the rice fields, a purification ceremony at the waterfalls and a swim among colorful fish, I regained my strength for a new year of work.

“I have often found myself with a goodbye to make, a suitcase to prepare, a radical change to deal with and a new dimension to find. Managing changes in work, life and prospects have led me to my most authentic metamorphosis: to make a profession of the travel experience.

I  wanted to offer a choice of wellbeing paths, itineraries as evolutionary routes, to relax, disconnect the mind, but above all to learn to eat properly, to get moving, and to feel the value and importance of being at one with nature. Traveling is not only advancing, or embarking on a journey, it’s also a way to reach one’s center and direct oneself towards the other, diversity. This is where our true inner wealth is born“.
