The journey of the soul begins step by step. Because walking is discovering yourself, connecting with nature, feeling your body being activated while the mind frees itself from constraints and chains, becoming light again and the gaze wanders into the “beyond”. Strolling, getting lost in the streets and alleys, following paths drawn by history, as well as climbing the roads and paths traced by time, to receive much more than we seek, such as the opportunity to enjoy what surrounds us, the possibility of rediscovering the power of one’s senses, to feel the vital force resulting from the energy of going, to merge into one with the world. A flow of emotions and well-being, generated by movement, by the reactivation of the body, by ever deeper and fuller breathing. And then walking becomes a healing. If it is true that “Life is a journey to be made on foot” (Bruce Chatwin) and “The fastest traveler is he who goes on foot” (Henry David Thoureau), there is nothing more adventurous than embarking on one’s own path listening to the foot that rests on the ground and feels its regenerating power.
Blend beaches, countryside and historical towns on an ancient pilgrim walking trail from Porto to Santiago de Compostela. The historical and spiritual Portuguese Coastal Camino de Santiago
offers a wide range of scenery, experiences and flavours. The landscapes you’ll encounter in Portugal and Spain are varied and beautiful, as are the inland stretches where you will wind your way through woodland, farmland, country villages and historical towns through Northern Portugal and Galicia. You’ll witness the cultural contrast between seafaring people, traditional village life and the comparative bustle of the ancient towns and cities along the Camino.
